DNA Giant

Here is an interesting idea. At this point it is just an idea that we 'throw' out to see what the reaction may be. As you can see in the image above (and below) we have a very large model of a giant DNA molecule. It is about 10 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. It is made out of steel. You can get the best idea of the size when you see me behind the model (below). The model is expensive (naturally, all good things are......) and the shipping is expensive because of the size. It must be shipped by truck.

If I can find 10 individuals willing to make an order and also put 1/2 down, I can have 10 of the models made and shipped out to the appropriate individuals or institutions. While the actual price has not been determined exactly, a ball park estimate is about $3,300, it may be a bit less. This does not include trucking to the destination.

I had one made as a proto type and donated it to the local science magnet High School who was ecstatic to receive such a gift.

When I picked it up at the shipping place, I walked into a very large storage area to see a large (10 X 4 X 4) wooden crate. I pushed on it and it did not budge, this was a heavy item. I thought to myself, I am glad this was not something I had to worry about. When the fork lift came over and said that this was ours, I developed a strong knot in my throat. This is one big guy!

So, bottom line, if you are interested, send me an email and I will get back with you. I do not know how long it will take to get 10 orders for such a large Herculean model such as this.
